Department History

In accordance with the order of the rector of Karshi State University No. 508-X dated November 1, 2021, the Department of Algorithms and Programming Technologies was established on the basis of the Department of Informatics Teaching Methods of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. Since April 3, 2025, the department has been headed by Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences Davronov Shokhjakhon Rizamat oglu. The department trains bachelors and masters in the following areas of training: 60610500-Artificial Intelligence (full-time), 60610100-Information Systems and Technologies (full-time), 60610500-Artificial Intelligence (correspondence course), 60610100-Information Systems and Technologies (correspondence course), 5110100-Mathematics and Informatics and 70610204-Information Systems (by areas). Currently, the department employs 12 professors, one department head, and one laboratory assistant. The department also includes six PhD candidates, associate professors, three senior lecturers, one assistant, and two interns. The department teaches information technology, information technology in education, digital information technology, and the application of information technology in all areas of university education.
The department currently hosts a scientific and methodological seminar, "Current Issues in Mathematics and Computer Science." Discussions of research reports, articles, and dissertations are planned. Also participating are professors and instructors of the department: T.V. Dzhuraev, Doctor of Sciences (DSc), B. Daminova, F. Shodiev, and I. Razzokov, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). In the 2024–2025 academic year, the department's faculty published two textbooks, two teaching aids, eight research articles indexed in the international Scopus database, and 15 research articles in journals recognized by the OAK. Ten copyright certificates were officially registered for programs developed by the faculty in the 2024–2025 academic year.
The department collaborates with the following institutions: Belgorod State National Research University of the Russian Federation, the Institute of Engineering and Digital Technologies, Kazan Federal University, the Uzbek Research Institute of Pedagogical Sciences, and the Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical University. The department also maintains links with higher education institutions such as UzNU, TUIT, SamSU, and BukhSU.
